The linocut is a bold, old-school printmaking technique that evolved from traditional woodcut (xylography). Instead of carving wood, we use linoleum—a softer, more flexible surface ideal for engraving intricate designs. Once carved, ink is rolled onto the surface and transferred to paper under pressure, creating a powerful mirror image of your artwork.

As lead artist and instructor, I’ll share both technical skills and personal insights into linocut, covering carving, inking, and printing, along with the stories behind my work. Whether you're new or looking to grow your practice, this 4.5-hour workshop will guide you through designing, carving, and printing your own linocuts. All materials are included, and you'll explore how this bold medium can be a tool for personal expression.
